THE AVENGER: "Someone who wants to balance the scales of justice even if it means in a violent, agressive or unfair way."
An Avenger is usually motivated by injustice against themselves, their family, or loved ones. They dont want to be the hero, just give people what they deserve.
Examples: Horus (Egyptain Mythology)
Horus was the son of the gods Isis and Osiris, and he himself was the god of the sky. He is represented as a falcon, and each of his eyes was the sun and mo

on. According to legend, the god of chaos, Set, murders Osiris in order to become the ruler of Egypt. Horus's mother asked him to protect the people of Egypt by trying to conquor Set in many battles, not only to avenge his fathers death, but to rightfully rule Egypt. In one particular battle, Horus almost kills Set but is stopped by Isis. Without explination Isis heals Set. After many years of fighting that lead nowhere, Horus and Set challenge eachother to a boat race and the winner will rule Egypt. Set sails a boat made of stone. Horus sails a boat made of wood, painted as stone, and tricks Set. Set's boat is too heavy and sinks. Horus later goes on to win the race, becomes the Pharoh of Egypt, and avenges his fathers death.
Modern day Avenger: Attorneys who work for the disadvantaged, or impoverished.
Movie: Dark Knight
Basically batman (the Dark Knight) is a superhero who is also an avenger. His main mission in this movie is to defeat the Joker. He is constantly in this cat and mouse chase trying to make Gotham City a safer place for its citizens. Every Chance he gets, the Joker somehow manages to slip away in time to save his own life. In the end the joker is not killed, but Gotham City is AVENGED!
WHY? i think that people need the avenger because yes, they want someone whos going to bring justice to innoicent people, but maybe they dont just want the criminal in jail, they want them to get what they deserve first. like getting beat up. or killed.
